Best Bud!

My Best Friend, Tamara, drove down from Modesto to spend a few days with the kids and I. I cannot put into words how much it meant and how good it was to see her! We took the babies shopping at the mall and out to dinner at Duke's with the Knopp family. Duke's is right on the water in Malibu so it got really chilly. The babies were bundled and bundled in several blankets to keep warm. (d-mo doesn't look so happy in the first picture, but he loved it once we got inside... it was 6 o'clock (feeding time) right when we got there!) We love you Auntie Tam and I miss you already!

Easter Weekend

Tony's sister, Stephanie, flew in from Michigan with her 4 month old son, Owen, for Spring Break. We all traveled down to Manhattan Beach to spend Saturday with Tony's other sister, Shannon, and her in-laws. It was a packed house, so Tony and I enjoyed taking our own little family down to the beach. It was the babies first trip to the beach! We ate icecream (the babies had delicious formula oceanside) and went for a walk on the beach. It was a great Saturday!




Easter Sunday we met the Knopp family at Sagebrush for brunch. They have outside seating so it was nice and open for the babies. They did great! We had them in their comfy stroller (I LOVE this thing!) and even did a feeding easily at the restaurant. They are so good! I just love being able to take my little loves with me wherever I go!

conversations

One thing we've learned for sure is that "sis " likes to talk... she definitely makes herself known around here. This morning she was having a conversation with her brother. He just stares at her, already used to her antics. He is such a happy little man.

It's a Good Thing We're Cute

because Mommy is not a fan of some of our new habits. The kiddos, as adorable as they may be, do not seem quite so adorable in the middle of a breakdown (or the middle of the night). The babies were sleeping great at first, but have decided 4 hour stretches are no fun anymore. We have been looking at about 2 hour stretches the last few nights which leaves me trying every trick in the book to keep two babies quiet and somewhat happy until feeding time. This is one of those times where two really is so much more difficult. I would love to bring a baby out to the rocking chair and rock them back to sleep, but when one makes a peep the other one always stirs, so I can't leave the room with just one. Daddy had to take one twice last night so I could take the other to be settled down in the rocker. The babies have always loved 4:30am. I am not sure why, but every day since the day we came home from the hospital they have woken up at 430. Usually a pacifier will do the trick to put them back to sleep, but some nights we stay up until the 6 o'clock feeding. I still cannot complain, I have been able to do everything pretty much on my own so Daddy can try to sleep at night, and it has not been so bad. But yesterday (and we repeated this morning) both babies had a meltdown at 5:30am. The babies were not having meltdowns at all (day or night) until a couple days ago, but they have both been a wreck form 530-6 for two days now. I am still trying to figure out this multiples thing when both babies are screaming. I know how to stay calm and calm one down, but not sure how you do two once they get that worked up. But thankfully the days have been quiet, adorable, and fun! They are awake anywhere from 1-2 hours of each 4 hour stretch and generally very happy. Sleep or no sleep there is still no place I would rather be but with my little ones. Here we are the last few days:

Grammie's Goodies

A fun package came in the mail today filled with bright colors, ribbons , and frills! Here is everything Grammie fit in one tiny box. So much fun to open! It was never-ending!

3 Doctors in 3 Days for Dellan

Our poor little guy has had a rough week. He had a urologist appointment on Tuesday, a pediatrician check up Wednesday, and we had to head back to the pediatrician this morning! When I woke Dellan up for the 6am feeding I noticed a thick layer of yellow mucus in his right eye. I cleaned it out the best I could and put him back to sleep. When we woke up at 9:30 (yes, we all slept in this morning and it was terrific!) it was much worse and he couldn't even open his eye. I cleaned it out and was amazed at how much stuff was there just since 3 hours before. It was pretty nasty looking. I called the doc right away and we went in soon after. Tony and I were thinking it was pink eye and prepared for the whole house to get it. Luckily, it turned out to be a clogged tear duct. Apparently they are very common in newborns and can happen up to 9 months. He gets antibiotic eye drops 4 times a day for a week to prevent infection. The little man is in good spirits and doesn't seem to mind. He has just had one eye open all day! Now if this was Laney, the whole world would know something was wrong! You can kind of see his eye is a little red and swollen in this picture. The ones from this morning are just to yucky to post.
